'Suspicious Package' Forces Temporary Main Street Road Closures In Fairfax County: Police

All roadways have been reopened after a suspicious package forced multiple closures on Wednesday morning in Fairfax County.

A multi-agency investigation was launched at around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9 in the area of 4000 block of Chain Bridge Road, where there was a potentially suspicious incident.

During the probe, Main Street was shut down between University Drive and West Street and Chain Bridge Road was closed between Sager Avenue and North Street.

In response, a detour was temporarily set up until all roads were reopened before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday when the packages were determined to be safe.

No details about the packages were provided by investigators.
